WPW10239732 - Genuine OEM Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator

WPW10239732 - Genuine OEM Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator

The WPW10239732 Genuine OEM Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator is an original Whirlpool replacement component designed for compatible refrigerators. The evaporator is part of the refrigerator’s sealed cooling system and absorbs heat from inside the appliance to help maintain the required cooling temperature. Whirlpool identifies WPW10239732 as an OEM evaporator, and RepairClinic confirms it is a genuine OEM part for select Whirlpool-family refrigerator applications.

Appliance Kingdom supplies genuine OEM appliance parts to customers across Canada, with Canada-wide shipping available. If your refrigerator has been diagnosed with a failed evaporator, WPW10239732 provides an OEM replacement designed for the appropriate compatible application.

Function & Importance of the Evaporator

The evaporator is a heat exchanger within the refrigerator's sealed refrigeration system. It absorbs heat from inside the refrigerator, allowing the cooling system to reduce the internal temperature and maintain proper food-storage conditions.

Because the evaporator is part of the sealed refrigerant system, using the correct replacement is particularly important. The correct OEM component is designed around the refrigerator's cooling-system specifications and helps maintain proper system performance.

A damaged or malfunctioning evaporator can prevent the refrigerator from removing heat effectively, resulting in inadequate cooling or freezing performance.

Common Symptoms of an Evaporator Problem

Depending on the failure and the refrigerator's specific design, a defective evaporator or related sealed-system issue can be associated with:

• Refrigerator not cooling properly

• Freezer not maintaining the expected temperature

• Inadequate cooling despite the refrigerator running

• Abnormal cooling performance

• Frost or ice patterns that indicate a refrigeration-system problem

• Refrigerator taking too long to reach the desired temperature

These symptoms do not automatically confirm that the evaporator itself has failed. Other sealed-system, airflow, defrost, or refrigeration components can produce similar symptoms.

Will Replacing WPW10239732 Fix My Refrigerator?

Replacing WPW10239732 can restore proper cooling when the evaporator has been correctly diagnosed as the failed component.

However, a refrigerator that is not cooling properly does not necessarily have a defective evaporator. Proper diagnosis should be completed before ordering this part to determine whether the evaporator, another sealed-system component, or a separate refrigerator component is responsible for the problem.

Installation Overview

Replacing an evaporator is not generally considered a simple DIY refrigerator repair. Because the evaporator is part of the sealed refrigerant system, the repair can require refrigerant recovery, system evacuation and recharging, along with specialised refrigeration equipment. Sears PartsDirect recommends having a service technician perform this repair because it involves recovering and recharging refrigerant.

Professional installation by a qualified appliance or refrigeration technician is strongly recommended for this component.
