W11291123 - Genuine OEM Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator

The W11291123 Genuine OEM Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator is an original Whirlpool replacement component designed for compatible refrigerators. The evaporator is a critical part of the refrigerator's cooling system, transferring heat from inside the appliance so the refrigerator and freezer can maintain the required temperatures. W11291123 is identified as a genuine OEM Whirlpool part and is also used in compatible Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and JennAir refrigerator applications.

Available from Appliance Kingdom, a Canadian appliance parts supplier based in Edmonton, Alberta, this genuine OEM evaporator is suitable for homeowners, landlords, property managers, and professional appliance technicians looking to replace a failed refrigerator cooling component. Appliance Kingdom serves customers across Canada with Canada-wide shipping.

Function & Importance of the Evaporator

The evaporator is a heat exchanger within the refrigerator's sealed cooling system. Its job is to absorb heat from the refrigerator's interior as refrigerant passes through the evaporator, allowing the appliance to produce the cold temperatures required for food preservation.

Because the evaporator is part of the refrigerator's sealed refrigeration system, using the correct OEM component is important. The evaporator must have the correct design, dimensions and refrigerant-flow characteristics for the appliance. A properly matched evaporator helps the refrigeration system operate as intended and supports consistent cooling performance.

If the evaporator develops a leak, becomes restricted, or otherwise fails, the refrigerator may no longer be able to remove heat effectively. This can result in poor cooling, abnormal temperatures, excessive frost or unusually long compressor run times.

Common Symptoms of a Refrigerator Evaporator Problem

A refrigerator with a defective evaporator can exhibit several cooling-related symptoms, including:

• Refrigerator is too warm

• Freezer is too warm

• Refrigerator or freezer is too cold in certain fault conditions

• Excessive frost buildup

• Refrigerator runs for unusually long periods

• Refrigerator does not start or does not cool properly

These symptoms are documented as possible repair symptoms for W11291123 by Home Depot Canada's appliance-parts listing. However, these symptoms can also be caused by other refrigerator components, so proper diagnosis is important before replacing the evaporator.

Will Replacing W11291123 Fix My Refrigerator?

Replacing W11291123 can restore cooling performance when the evaporator has been correctly diagnosed as the failed component and the refrigerator's model specifically calls for this part.

A warm refrigerator or freezer does not automatically mean the evaporator is defective. Cooling problems can involve other components of the refrigeration system, airflow system, controls or defrost system. Confirm the appliance model and diagnose the failure before ordering.
