W10864518 – Genuine OEM Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Box Adapter and Fan Motor Kit

The W10864518 Genuine OEM Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Box Adapter and Fan Motor Kit is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement component designed for compatible refrigerators. This kit addresses the ice box adapter and fan motor assembly, helping maintain proper conditions around the refrigerator's ice-making compartment and reduce excessive frost buildup.

If your refrigerator is experiencing frost accumulation around the ice box or ice maker compartment, replacing this kit may resolve the issue when the original assembly is faulty. Appliance Kingdom serves homeowners, landlords, and appliance repair professionals across Canada with appliance replacement parts and nationwide shipping options.

Function & Importance

The ice box adapter and fan motor kit supports airflow management around the refrigerator's ice-making compartment. Proper airflow and temperature conditions are important for reliable ice maker operation and controlling frost accumulation.

When this assembly fails or airflow becomes restricted, excessive frost can develop around the ice box, potentially affecting ice-making performance. Replacing a defective assembly with a genuine Whirlpool OEM part helps restore the intended fit and operation of the refrigerator's ice compartment.

Common Symptoms Indicating Replacement

Consider inspecting this component if you notice any of the following symptoms:

• Excessive frost buildup around the ice box or ice maker compartment.

• Frost accumulating around the ice maker fascia.

• Ice-making performance affected by frost or airflow problems.

• Abnormal operation associated with the ice box fan or adapter assembly.

These symptoms do not automatically confirm that the kit has failed. Other refrigerator components, temperature problems, airflow restrictions, or moisture-related issues can produce similar symptoms. Proper diagnosis helps determine whether this is the correct replacement.
