Appliance Kingdom serves homeowners, landlords, property managers, and professional appliance repair technicians across Canada, with Canada-wide shipping.

Function & Importance of the Evaporator Fan Motor Assembly

The evaporator fan motor assembly circulates cold air from the evaporator area throughout the refrigerator compartment. Proper airflow helps distribute cold air evenly and supports consistent refrigerator temperatures.

When the fan motor fails, becomes obstructed, or stops operating correctly, cold air may not circulate as intended. This can cause uneven cooling, temperature fluctuations, excessive frost in some cases, or unusual operating noise.

Using the correct genuine OEM replacement is important because the motor assembly must match the refrigerator's electrical specifications, mounting arrangement, and airflow requirements. A correctly matched component helps restore intended operation and supports reliable cooling performance.

Common Symptoms of a Faulty Evaporator Fan Motor

A failing evaporator fan motor assembly may contribute to the following refrigerator problems:

• Refrigerator compartment is too warm despite the cooling system running.

• Refrigerator temperatures fluctuate or cooling is uneven.

• Unusual humming, buzzing, rattling, or fan-related noise comes from inside the refrigerator.

• Cold air circulation is weak or absent.

• The refrigerator or freezer experiences temperature problems associated with restricted airflow.

• Frost or ice buildup interferes with fan operation or airflow.

These symptoms can also result from other faulty components, obstructed air passages, or ice buildup around the fan. Proper diagnosis is recommended before replacing the assembly.

Will Replacing DA81-06013A Fix My Refrigerator?

Replacing DA81-06013A can resolve the problem if the evaporator fan motor assembly is defective and responsible for the symptoms.

For example, a refrigerator compartment that remains too warm while the cooling system operates may have a failed or obstructed evaporator fan. A noisy fan may also indicate a worn motor or interference from ice.

However, similar symptoms can be caused by a defrost-system fault, temperature sensor, control board, or another cooling component. Confirm the diagnosis and check your refrigerator's model-specific parts information before ordering.

Compatibility & Ordering Guidance

DA81-06013A is a genuine OEM Samsung refrigerator evaporator fan motor assembly intended for compatible Samsung refrigerator models.

Before purchasing, locate your refrigerator's complete model number, usually found on a label inside the refrigerator compartment or on the appliance exterior. Verify the model number against an authoritative parts compatibility listing to ensure the assembly matches your refrigerator's configuration.

Samsung refrigerators can use different fan assemblies depending on their model and compartment design. Do not rely on visual similarity alone.
