297414901 - Genuine OEM Frigidaire Refrigerator Evaporator

297414901 – Genuine OEM Frigidaire Refrigerator Evaporator

The 297414901 Genuine OEM Frigidaire Refrigerator Evaporator is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) evaporator coil assembly designed for compatible Frigidaire refrigerators and freezers. This component absorbs heat from inside the appliance as refrigerant circulates through the cooling system, helping maintain the temperatures required for food preservation and frozen storage. Frigidaire parts listings identify 297414901 as an OEM evaporator coil assembly.

Available through Appliance Kingdom, a Canadian appliance parts supplier based in Edmonton, Alberta, this replacement part serves homeowners, landlords, property managers, and professional appliance repair technicians across Canada. Canada-wide shipping helps customers source the correct refrigerator or freezer component when the original evaporator requires replacement.

Function & Importance of the Evaporator

The evaporator is a key component of an appliance's sealed refrigeration system. As refrigerant passes through the evaporator coil, it absorbs heat from the appliance interior, supporting the cooling process.

A properly functioning evaporator helps the refrigerator or freezer maintain its intended operating temperature. Damage, leakage, or a restriction affecting the evaporator can interfere with heat absorption and reduce cooling performance.

Using the correct OEM evaporator is important because the coil assembly must match the appliance's refrigeration system and physical configuration. Replacing the component with the correct part helps restore the intended cooling performance when the evaporator itself is confirmed to be faulty.

Common Symptoms of a Faulty Refrigerator Evaporator

A defective evaporator may be associated with the following symptoms:

• Refrigerator not cooling sufficiently

• Refrigerator or freezer temperatures remaining too warm

• Reduced cooling performance despite the appliance running

• Difficulty maintaining consistent food-storage temperatures

• Refrigeration-system problems caused by a damaged or leaking evaporator coil

PartSelect identifies the 297414901 evaporator as a component associated with the symptom of a refrigerator that is too warm.

These symptoms do not automatically confirm evaporator failure. Other components, including the compressor, refrigerant circuit, controls, and airflow-related components, can produce similar cooling problems.

Will Replacing 297414901 Fix My Refrigerator?

Replacing the evaporator can resolve cooling problems when diagnosis confirms that the original evaporator is defective. If another component is responsible for poor cooling, replacing the evaporator alone may not correct the issue.

Because the evaporator is part of the sealed refrigeration system, a qualified appliance refrigeration technician should inspect the system and confirm the cause of the failure before replacement.
